Module 2.6 – Resume Actions Verbs
Action Verbs
It is very important to use action verbs whenever possible to describe your work and especially your accomplishments. It is perfectly OK – and preferred – to start your sentence with an action verb and in many cases, the statement doesn’t have to be a complete sentence. Here’s a categorized list of action verbs. [private]
This categorized list contains only a few action verbs you can use to compose concise, persuasive, reader-centered resumes, cover letters, or other types of workplace documents.
The examples are illustrations of how to use action verbs in professional resume writing. Please note these statements do not always have the mental yard-stick concept included that was discussed earlier.
So when you use them or something similar, add the mental yard-stick that fits your specific experience.
