35 Large Employers Start Unique Job Pooling Consortium

There’s a new place to find more jobs online and it reflects a growing trend by large employers to help you find a job.

This means more job opportunities can be found in one location, and it by-passes the job board concept as well as headhunters and connects you directly to hot jobs that employers need to fill right away.

This new concept was reported in a July 2009 issue of BusinessWeek.  Here’s what’s happening.

Thirty-five (35) large companies have begun pooling job candidates through a consortium known as AllianceQ.  When you submit your resume to one of the consortium employers – and there isn’t a match – you will be invited to submit their resumes to the AllianceQ database. Click inside the box to view the AllianceQ site.

Member employers can tap int the pool of candidates to find great candidates.  Just because you don’t match an available job at one employer doesn’t mean you won’t match an opportunity at another employer.

Just a few of the participating employers include: Best Buy, Allstate, Bayer, Starbucks and other premier employers.  Here’s what Phil Hendrickson who is a recruiting manager at member company Starbucks said, “It’s a no-brainer.”

As of July, the consortium had over 300,000 resumes and is adding 27,000 resumes per month.  However, on July 15th the consortium opens its doors to all companies.  Their vision is that large employers participating companies would grow to about 100 and also include a a large number of mid-sized and smaller employers.

Expect this sort of approach to expand.  In fact, there is another similar group – Direct Employers – that you may also find of value.  This is a similar group of employers who have worked cooperatively for a long time.  You may find these two links of value to your job search – Job Central. Here’s wishing you much success in your job search.
